Delta i SCOPE: ESAIC-studie om Point of care-ultraljud vid hjärtstopp

ESAIC bedriver en enkätstudie om point-of-care-ultraljud i samband med handläggning av hjärtstopp i Europa, genom sitt forum Trauma & Resuscitation: “SCOPE – Spread and COmpetency of Point-of-Care ultrasound in the management of cardiac arrest in Europe”. Läs med och delta via denna länk.

Dear Colleague,

We kindly invite you to take part in the survey “SCOPE – Spread and COmpetency of Point-of-care ultrasound in the management of cardiac arrest in Europe” developed by Scientific Sub-Forum ‘Trauma & Resuscitation – Critical Emergency Medicine’ of the European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (ESAIC).

Point-of-care ultrasound for the management of cardiac arrest (CA-POCUS) has been proved to be accurate for prompt diagnosis of reversible causes of non-shockable rhythms, as well as for prognostic purposes. However, high quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation includes minimizing interruptions of chest compressions, which poses significant challenges to the spread of CA-POCUS. In fact, in this setting ultrasound should be performed during the up to maximally 10 seconds pause for rhythm re-evaluation, skill which requires a high level of training and competency still needing to be defined.

This Survey, which consists of 33 questions taking no more than 10 minutes, aims at focusing on how, when and by whom CA-POCUS is performed and, if not performed, why. Your input will be of paramount importance to help understanding how to overcome the barriers to the use of CA-POCUS, if any, and how it could be taught effectively so to implement its clinical application. The Survey is anonymous and confidential.

We thank you in advance for your precious contribution.
