This multi-specialty represented conference is intended for physicians from all specialties, nurses, nurse practitioners, nurse anesthetists and administrators interested in sedation. Our faculty is from the United States and abroad, and represents a collection of national and internationally-recognized experts. This conference is unique because it attracts a diverse group of national and international attendees as well as faculty- all of whom share an interest in pediatric sedation. We will again offer expanded didactic sessions which will contain multiple, concurrently-run, focused, personalized, specialized afternoon tracks featuring pertinent and timely topics of interests in the field of hospital medicine, state-of-the art sedation practice, pediatric nursing, and innovations in sedation- equipment and sedatives during the weekend course. In addition, other topics include advancing safety in sedation, essentials of sedation management, sedation and the non anesthesiologist. Group discount for sedation teams. Back by popular demand: Multispecialty Directed Simulation Workshop- Taught by Multi-Specialty Experts. The Fundamentals of Sedation, Reviewing the Basics course is intended for physicians, nurses, dentists, hygienists and those who are interested in pediatric sedation. This course is designed to provide an in-depth review of pharmacology, physiology, alternative techniques, oral sedatives, nitrous oxide, local anesthetics, physiologic monitoring, national guidelines and procedures, patient assessment, anticipation and preparation for adverse events, identification of high risk situations and the logistics of setting up a pediatric dental sedation practice. A Hands-On Airway Workshop is offered along with case based learning presentations. Approved for AMA PRA category 1 credits. Pending: ACEP Category I Credit, AANA, CEU and Risk Management credits.
