We are proud to announce that we have partnered with Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Google to organize a weekend with healthcare data in focus. The Aarhus Critical Care Datathon 2019 consists of a half-day symposium Friday afternoon followed by a Datathon. At the symposium, field experts will present and discuss the research opportunities made possible by the increasing accumulation of healthcare data. The Datathon will then take over, with clinicians and data scientists working on original research projects at sprint pace.
It is possible to sign up for the full weekend program or just the symposium Friday afternoon.
Registration
Register as soon as possible and no later than August 16th 2019. Early bird registration posible until July 15th.
For the symposium, seats will be allocated on a ‘first-come-first-served’ basis. For the Datathon, we have quotas depending on occupation (student or post graduate) and background (medical or data science/statistics). For each group, seats are allocated on a ‘first-come-first-served’ basis.

Who is this for?
The Friday afternoon symposium
The symposium is aimed at clinicians, data scientists, statisticians and engineers interested the research applications for healthcare data with a gradual focus over the day towards Critical Care. The talks will generally not be technical, but are still of interest for data scientists interested in healthcare research.

The Datathon
The Datathon is a cross-disciplinary learning platform, where everyone can join. However, we recommend that participants (whether being a student or graduated) have some experience in critcal care medicine or data science in order to both contribute and gain knowledge from the work in the project groups. Groups will be balanced with respect to experience and background education and each group will have a project proposer and a MIMIC mentor. The format is somewhat described in the video documentation from last year’s event in Paris.
