Ukrainas befolkning behöver vårt stöd, säger Tobias Alfvén, ordförande i Svenska Läkaresällskapet.

The European Board of Anaesthesiology would like to share its thoughts and admiration for all the anaesthesiologists and other surgical, medical staff and nurses currently dealing with all the victims of the unprecedented situation in the Ukraine.
The reports we hear are very distressing, but we are most impressed by the dedication and heroism that they are demonstrating whilst their own lives are at risk. They are all in our thoughts.

The Multidisciplinary joint committee for Intensive Care Medicine (MJC ICM) – in line with the official statement from its organisation the European Union of Medical Specialists UEMS – demands the Russian government to stop all military action in Ukraine. War has never been a solution and it never will be. It brings death, fear, terror and sorrow to innocent people. It puts staff from hospitals and intensive care units in Ukraine in danger of life. Our thoughts are with the nurses, doctors and allied health care personnel that are now treating their patients under most difficult conditions. The protection of medical staff and of civilians must be priority number one. International humanitarian and human rights law must be upheld.
