12th Hederstierna Laboratory MasterClass symposium 2023

The Hedenstierna Laboratory MasterClass symposium is an academic meeting dealing with physiological mechanisms relevant to intensive care and anaesthesia. Since the start 2011 it has gained a reputation for its quality. High profile scientists present state of the art knowledge about clinical aspects of respiratory failure. The audience comprises both young and senior specialist in anaesthesia and intensive care who are eager to keep abreast with recent findings.
 This year the theme of the symposium is: “A physiological approach to Respiratory Failure”. Our distinguished speakers are Katerina Vaporidi, Gaetano Perchiazzi, Antoine Vieillard-Baron, Malin Jonsson Fagerlund, Christian Meyhoff, John Laffey and Denise Battaglini who will talk about clinical implications the different phenotypes of respiratory failure, the assessment of respiratory drive and heart lung interactions, self-induced lung injury and pharmacological treatment options as well as the acceptable low and high oxygenation during anesthesia.
